Worried about cancer

Publicity campaigns and news stories often create anxiety regarding cancer. Unfortunately where symptoms are mild there can be delays in seeing an appropriate expert which may result in unnecessary stress and worry.

Concerning symptoms that should prompt seeing an expert are, bleeding after the menopause, bleeding in between periods or after intercourse, abdominal pain, bloating, feeling full after small meals, bladder disturbance or abnormal growths of the skin on the vulva.

In many cases a pelvic examination and ultrasound scan is all that is required to rule out cancer. We can undertake this at a single appointment and arrange any additional tests that might help such as blood tests or biopsies.
